RN - National Council of Licensure Examination
- Registered Nurse
Entry into the practice of nursing in the United
States and its territories is regulated by the
licensing authorities within each jurisdiction.
To ensure protection, each jurisdiction requires
a candidate for licensure to pass an examination
that measures the competencies needed to perform
safely and effectively as a newly licensed, entry-level
registered nurse.
After you have passed the CGFNS examination,
you need to take the NCLEX exam.
The NCLEX is usually taken after the nurses arrive
in USA with their immigration visas and within
one year of their placement. Normally the nurse
prepares for NCLEX while working and the cost
of NCLEX is taken care of by the employers. The
fees amount of NCLEX is $200.
