Bachelor of Nursing for Registered Nurses @ Auckland
This one year full time New Zealand degree upgrade programme for registered nurses is based on the principles of:
- Adult teaching and learning
- Caring
- Cultural safety
- Reflective thinking
- Evidence based practice
These underpin the philosophy of the curriculum. This along with the nursing knowledge and research components of the degree provides a basis for the ongoing development of professional practice for registered nurses. The academic programme of study has a strong practice focus, and is applicable to a broad range of practice setting. Students who have had a good range of clinical experience will therefore benefit the most from their study. Also provides part-time option for education necessary for advancement in the health industry and provides for an academic upgrade to Bachelor level for Registered Nurses.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Completion of this degree does NOT enable the student to practise as a nurse in New Zealand. In order to practise in New Zealand you must apply to the nursing council of New Zealand (NCNZ) for registration. To gain registration you will generally be required by NCNZ to undertake a competency assessment programme (CAP) through a nursing school. These are generally between 6-12 weeks long and costs lesser if you graduate in the RNBN programme from this University.
