INSCOL Academy ties up with Niagara College, Canada for another nursing program
IN BRIEF: A post graduate certificate program in Community Mental Health Gerontology will now be offered by INSCOL Academy in partnership with Niagara College, Canada. The program is available for both GNM and BSc nurses. This program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of mental health workers or other who work with or care for the elderly in their own homes, in institutions, and in other community settings.

INSCOL Academy provides an opportunity to nurses to study & work in Alberta, Canada
IN BRIEF: For the first time, nurses from Punjab have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in Alberta, Canada, through a partnership between INSCOL Academy, Chandigarh, and Grant MacEwan University, Canada. The program offered is: POST BASIC NURSING - HOSPICE PALLIATIVE CARE & GERONTOLOGY. It is a Post Diploma Certificate of 2 semesters/one academic year. The program is open to both GNM as well as degree nurses and has good scope globally as the demand for gerontology nursing is increasing due to the ageing population in developed countries. The program will start in November this year.

INSCOL Academy signs a collaborative program with Liverpool JM University, UK
IN BRIEF: INSCOL Academy has set up a collaborative BSc Nursing program with Liverpool JM University, UK. This is the first time that the University has signed a collaborative BSc program with any institute in India. The program upgrades the knowledge & skills of the nurses to be able to face the challenges of working in international healthcare facilities. It prepares practitioners with a wide vision and intellectual approach to contemporary issues pertinent to nursing practice with the ability to become the practitioners, researchers, educationalists and managers of the future. Being a collaborative program, the first semester would be studied in India and remaining 2 semesters in UK. INSCOL students get the benefit of earning the same degree at a lower cost as compared to a full delivery program. The program will start in September this year.

UWE delegates visit INSCOL Academy
IN BRIEF: Ms. Valerie Watson and Ms. Debra Salmon, faculty from the University of the West of England, UK, visited INSCOL Academy to conduct the English Language assessment. The assessment was held on 21st June 2010 in Chandigarh and on 24th June 2010 in Kochi. 14 students were selected from the Head office while 15 students were selected from the Kerala offices.

Delegates from Union University, USA, visit INSCOL Academy
IN BRIEF: Dr Tim Smith (Dean, School of Nursing, and Executive Director of Center of Excellence in Health Care Practice), Mrs. Kathy O Connor (Associate Dean, School of Nursing), Dr. Kelly Harden (Chair of Graduate Program, Chair of DNP Program) & Mrs. Joy Thomason (Director of Undergraduate Nursing Education in Center of Excellence in Health Care Practice) visited INSCOL Academy to discuss partnerships and programs options between Union University, USA, and INSCOL. An interactive presentation and discussion session was held with the management team. The delegates appreciated the focus on quality and end-to-end holistic approach adopted by INSCOL in working with University partners and students.

BNU delegates visit INSCOL Academy
IN BRIEF: Dr. Lauren Griffiths and Ms. Michelle Carter visited INSCOL Academy to conduct the English language assessment for the Buckinghamshire New University (BNU), UK. 40 students were selected from our offices in Chandigarh, Kerala and Bengaluru. The other main objective for Ms. Michelle Carter during this visit was to do research on her anthropological study on Indian nursing. The academy assisted Ms Carter in her research by arranging visits to various nursing schools, colleges and hospitals.

LJMU delegates visit INSCOL Academy
IN BRIEF: Ms. Ann Deane and Mr. Phil Rathe, Faculty of Liverpool JM University (LJMU), UK, visited INSCOL Academy to conduct the English language assessment. 34 students were selected from our Chandigarh office while 16 students were selected from the Kerala offices. The INSCOL team prepared for the validation of a new collaborative program with the University.

INSCOL Academy ties up with US University for Nursing Programs
IN BRIEF: For the first time, Nurses from India have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, skills and professional conduct in the USA through a partnership between INSCOL Academy, Chandigarh and Valparaiso University, USA. This partnership offers exclusive and unique study options for GNM as well as Degree nurses. On completion of these programs, and passing NCLEX, nurses can work as Registered Nurses or Nursing Educators in the US. This partnership between INSCOL Academy & Valparaiso University currently offers two options: for a GNM diploma nurse (with NCLEX) to upgrade to BSN degree (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) and for a BSc degree nurse to upgrade to MSN (Masters of Science in Nursing Education). In future, more programs are expected to be offered.

Seneca-I takes off
IN BRIEF: A pre-departure briefing and farewell party was organized at INSCOL Academy for Seneca-I students. Students were given detailed guidelines on their travel, the climate and accommodation. Kerala branch organized this event on 17th November, 2009. The batch is leaving on 20th November, 2009 and will reach Canada on 21st November, 2009. The cohort start date is 23/11/09.

IN BRIEF: INSCOL Academy has entered into a new partnership with Buckinghamshire New University, London, UK on 28th August, 2009 (Friday). The university is known for providing the best nursing education in Greater London. The first intake would start in February, 2010. MSc(Nursing) would also be offered. Entry to the program will be through an assessment process scheduled on 30th and 31st October 2009

New Study Option in Canada for Nurses:
In Brief: INSCOL Academy has signed a 5 year contract with a leading College in Toronto to offer The Post-Graduate Nursing Leadership & Management Programme for nurses from India. The College has 8 campus sites and is the largest Government funded College in Canada.. This bespoke program would enable nurses to develop their leadership and managerial skills so as to assume roles of Nursing Administrators & Nurse Managers. It would also prepare them to write the nursing licensing examination.

INSCOL now in South India:
In Brief: INSCOL academy has now entered the Gods Own Country, Kerala for its nursing operations. Nursing has been a big attraction for Kerala's youth in the past few years, mainly due to the demonstrated track record of the profession's ability to help them land in foreign jobs and earn handsome salaries. The rush for nursing education in Kerala has even resulted in many students who fail to get admission in the state and thus going over to the neighboring states. With INSCOL now entering the region and opening up various centers will make nursing profession a dream come true for the nurses looking for a global opportunity.

INSCOL ties-up with University in New Zealand:
In Brief: INSCOL academy, has recently tied up with a University in New Zealand to offer a unique study programme for nurses, to help them upgrade their diploma to a degree in nursing. The customised study programme would not only give nurses from India-an opportunity to enhance their knowledge, but would also familiarise them with the best international nursing practices, thus assisting them in taking up the global challenges of the ever changing healthcare scenario. The first batch would begin in July, 2009. The government funded University is located in lower half of then North Island. The University has three main campuses close to main shopping centres; Palmerston North, Wanganui and Masterton. All of these cities are relatively small by world standards, adding to the friendly environment which the international students enjoy so much. Recreational activities including sporting and cultural opportunities are very close at hand. For the more adventure there are extreme sporting opportunities such as bunji jumping, skiing and water sports all within two hours drive from each campus.
