25.01.06 Strategic Partnerships with Nursing Schools

INSCOL Academy has identified nine leading nursing schools in
Punjab for a strategic partnership to impart English language
proficiency to nurse students in their final year of the three
year diploma program. The students would also be oriented towards
the British nursing education system and other cross-cultural issues.
The partner school would also be involved in assessing, motivating &
counseling of prospective students for the top-up BSc Hons Nursing program.

05.12.05 European Health Leadership Program at INSEAD
|
| |
INSEAD, Fountainbleau(Paris), the leading business school in Europe,
has invited Daljit Singh Gujral, Managing Director, INSCOL Academy,
to participate in the European Healthcare Leadership Program, sponsored
by Johnson & Johnson. The two-week programme is designed to provide a
select group of individuals with an educational experience that will
equip them with concepts, tools, techniques, and strategies to play
significant leadership roles in the rapidly changing and extremely
challenging world of healthcare.
It brings together a group of participants from many countries and a
variety of professional experiences and organisational affiliations in
pursuit of a common objective — to learn together in a demanding and
rigorous setting about new approaches to managing and leading in the health
sector.

15.11.05 Expansion of Facilities at INSCOL Academy
|

To accommodate the increase in number of students for the BSc
Hons Nursing program, the existing team, facilities and resources
have been enhanced. A 50 seat lecture room with audio-video
facility has been added and the number of computers has been
increased to 85. Additional band width has also been leased for
better internet connectivity. A large number of nursing books &
journals have also been added to the library.

26.07.05 Liverpool JM University visit
|

A team from the Liverpool JM University, constituting of Prof.
Godfrey Mazhindu , Dean, Faculty of Health & Social Sciences
and Mr.Grahame Smith, Head of Programmes, concluded their visit to
INSCOL Academy and have agreed, in principle, to partner with INSCOL
Academy, for collaborative delivery of the BSc Hons Mental Health Nursing program.

INSCOL Academy has acquired the contents rights of the MD/MS preparatory program from Med Xel. Med Xel has been the leading provider of tutorials for the Indian Medical PG entrance examination. INSCOL proposes to offer the tutorial, with value addition through CBT & Web based access, to the students from March, 2004 onwards.

SEMINAR ON USMLE/PLAB -

Seminar on
USMLE & PLAB was conducted by Dr. Jayant Banerji, MD Internal
Medicine in Chandigarh on the 20th Dec, 2003
and on the 18th Dec, 2003 at Ludhiana.
It was highly appreciated by Doctors who participated in the
seminar. Highlights of the seminar were Academy’s training
program for USMLE in collaboration with EXAM MASTER and for
PLAB with PLAB MASTER.

| After 45 years
of age the heart becomes an even bigger concern. Dr. Deepak
Kaura, DM Cardiology took a session sharing vital statistics
and facts with the employees of IFCI. The afternoon slipped
into evening with the interactive session that ensued.

Every minute is valuable in a medical emergency. Be
it at school, home or at your work place. One should
be equipped with the essential first aid skills to handle
a critical situation. A workshop covering over 20 situations
highlighted the actions an individual should take to
aid causality. This workshop was conducted foe class
XII with special sessions on practical demonstrations.
Dr. N.P. Singh came down to the basics required and
had a one to one session with the students.
